On the 1st of september 2012 I started University and moved into the new halls in Galashiels :
WORDS OF WISDOM.....
Take photo's. OK at the start it may be awkward to take photos seeing as no one knew each other but looking back on it now i'm so glad I did. Everyone has changed so much since freshers and its almost an ice breaker to talk to people you normally wouldn't have.
Be outgoing. There is no point in not getting involved and watching from the sidelines because you will miss out.
Be friendly. Its the easiest way to make friends and to start getting to know everyone.
Drinking. 'Down it freeessshhhhha!' Obviously drinking plays a part in freshers week. When meeting new faces it will hopefully make it less awkward.

I would also like to add that the friends you make in the first few weeks are not necessarily going to be your best friends for the rest of the year. You will make new friends every day and will begin to spend more time with the people you have more in common with.
